Chocolate Secrets at 7:00 pm on Friday, April 18th to hear about Kelsey Timmerman’s latest travels and to learn more about his adventure to one of the most unattractive origins of chocolate.

While at Chocolate Secrets you may  purchase chocolates made from worker-friendly plantations or a glass of wine.They’ll even have Dallas’s only bean-to-bar chocolate maker, Sublime Chocolate’s Troy Easton, on hand for a tasting of ethically sourced chocolate.  

Kelsey Timmerman is the author of Where Am I Wearing? A Global Tour to the Countries, Factories, and People That Make Our Clothes and more recently, Where Am I Eating? An Adventure Through the Global Food Economy. His writing has appeared in publications such as the Christian Science Monitor and Condé Nast Portfolio and has aired on NPR. Kelsey is the cofounder of the Facing Project, which seeks to connect people through stories to strengthen community. He has spoken with workers at cacao plantations in the Ivory Coast that weren’t allowed to leave their jobs, farmed on four continents, taught an island village to play baseball in Honduras, and in another life, worked as a SCUBA instructor in Key West, Florida. Whether in print or in person he seeks to connect people around the world.
