Chef Hage “Meal in the Meadow” Benefits Trinity River Audubon Center

long table

Trinity River Audubon Center will host a fall fundraising dinner: Songbird Supper, a Meal in the Meadow. Proceeds will support outdoor education for north Texas children and wildlife habitat restoration. Renowned Dallas Chef, Sharon Hage will design the meal to showcase produce and sustainably raised meats from nearby farms and ranches.  We will celebrate the harvest with custom crafted beers and Texas wine.

The scene will be set for an unforgettable evening with the community table meandering through a spectacular meadow along the edge of the Great Trinity Forest.  Skeins of geese in the autumn sky, coyotes yipping in the far distance, a confetti of leaves floating on a cool breeze; it is sure to be a magical fall evening benefiting Trinity River Audubon Center.

Songbird Supper will begin in the Antoine Predock designed, LEED-Gold, Great Hall where guests will mix and mingle with local farmers and artisans over hors d’oeuvres, wine, and local craft beer. From there, guests will move outside to the table to enjoy a delicious family-style meal, live music, and the golden light of fall sunset. The Great Hall will again serve as the scene for dessert and coffee and the evening will close with a guided walk and candle-light owl prowl along the Trinity River.

Ben Jones, Trinity’s Center Director, says “At Audubon Texas, we’re passionate about connecting city kids to the outdoors and building a foundation for conservation stewardship. We work to open new eyes to nature whether it’s camping in the forest under a starry night sky, canoeing beside a beaver in the Trinity River, hearing an owl call for the first time, or cooking on the coals of a glowing campfire. The outdoors is an incredible context for life-long learning and a wonderful source for enriched life. We believe every child deserves the gift of this wild and beautiful world.”

Songbird Supper is Sunday, October 26 from 5:00-8:30pm. Tickets are $160 each. Seating is limited.  For more details visit the website.
