Jimmy’s Food Store News

by Steven Doyle

We love our Jimmy’s Food Store. Not just for the killer good sandwiches, the best price for Parmigiano-Reggiano (the only cheese with their own theme song), and the best horde of Italian wines in the state, but also their email blasts that keep us informed of their doings at the East Dallas grocery,

Located at one of our favorite intersections in Dallas (think Urbano Café, The Dallasite, Mai’s Vietnamese and more) Jimmy’s is a little slice of New York’s Little Italy.

When the newsletter from Jimmy’s finds its way into our inbox, it is usually a good day that brings with it an offer of fresh burrata cheese flown in about a dozen times a year from New York, or a great wine buy because of a savvy purchase made that day. Other times they may announce a crazy deal of prime beef that is often sold at less than ten dollars a pound when on sale.

Then there are the myriad of wine tastings and dinners. Some of the tastings are gratis, other are inexpensive.

Jet over to the Jimmy’s website and sign up for the email blasts, you will thank us when they announce the few special Sunday openings they do each year. Oh, the best sandwiches Dallas has to offer can be found at this little grocery.

You don’t have to be Italian to love Jimmy’s.
