In honor of Desperados Mexican Restaurant’s 40th Anniversary, the restaurant is hosting a 40th anniversary bash on Thursday, October 6th from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at their Greenville location. The family-owned Mexican restaurant has been a Dallas favorite for four decades and has cemented itself as a city landmark on Greenville Avenue since it opened.
“Staying in business 40 years is a testament to the hard work that my family puts in to the restaurant day in and day out,” says Jorge Levy, founder and owner of Desperados Mexican Restaurant. “Desperados is all about family, and when our guests visit our restaurants we want to make them feel as if they are visiting our home. It’s been an incredible experience to see generations of customers returning to Desperados over the past 40 years, ingraining our tradition into their own families and coming back to celebrate birthdays, weddings, baby showers and baptisms with us. We are incredibly grateful to the Dallas community for supporting us and allowing my family to do what we love for 40 years.”
The party will take place in the front parking lot of the restaurant, which will be tented for the event, and will feature live music, award-winning margaritas, complimentary famous Desperados Tacos, and other favorite Mexican and Tex-Mex creations. There will be a suggested $20 donation for entry to the party, to be donated to Susan G. Komen Dallas County, a charity dedicated to saving lives and ending breast cancer forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing science to find the cures. With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Desperados feels strongly about doing their part to help end the disease that affects so many in our community.
Desperados Mexican Restaurant’s Garland location has also been a longtime staple in the community, celebrating 22 amazing years of serving great tasting Mexican and Tex-Mex dishes. Desperados Mexican Restaurant is known for its large menu, sampling the culinary diversity of Mexico with award winning specialties like the delicious Guacamole, tangy Steak Argentina, world famous Desperados Tacos and Terlingua Champion Chili. The restaurant is also best known for their Margaritas which have been awarded the ‘Best Margarita in Dallas’ a total of five times.
