The Playwright, Dallas’ newest Irish pub opening Wednesday, November 14 for lunch, dinner and late-night every night, offers a tried and true experience at One Arts Plaza in the heart of Dallas’ Arts District.
Brought to us by the same owners as The Crafty Irishman, the new pub offers hundreds of whiskeys and scotches and 50 beers on tap, including a healthy Irish selection. As for the menu, customary Irish dishes, such as Fish and Chips, Scotch Eggs, Shepherd’s Pie, Bangers and Mash and Guinness Ice Cream are just a few of the made-in-house items.
“From scheduled spirits tastings to a casual place to gather for the big game and drink a pint, we offer a space that we know guests will appreciate in an authentic and honest environment,” explains The Playwright creator, Alan Kearney.
“I’ve spent a lot of time and care making sure this is a traditional pub like one might find in my hometown of Dublin,” he says. For this particular location, historical items he collected over a lifetime as well as artifacts from the Titanic are part of the authentic décor.
Kearney believes in doing things the right way and doing them well. The Playwright is a thoughtful and intentional addition to the Arts District.
Warm woods and lighting offer a comfortable environment, while an expanded bar provides room for even more whiskey bottles.
Open for lunch, dinner, weekend brunch, and late every night. The Playwright will give guests what they need: sustenance and libations.
It also represents the soul of the Irish pub: the community of home.
