Who’s ready to raise a dram? After taking a year off due to the pandemic, Whiskies of the World, The Quintessential Whisky Tasting event, returns to Dallas on October 28th and 29th at Marie Gabrielle Restaurant & Gardens. One of the largest whisky tasting events in the U.S., Whiskies of the World is produced by Douglas Smith and Agency 21, who have partnered to gather 200 varieties of the world’s most fascinating distilled spirits along with their makers and ambassadors to give both aficionados and the whiskey curious an all-inclusive evening dedicated to the craft.
In late 2019, The Whisky Extravaganza and International Wine & Spirits Competition’s Whiskies of the World merged to create the foremost Whiskey tour in the United States. Set to travel to 15 major cities in 2020, the mega-tour was postponed due to the pandemic. Upon its return, the tour is visiting five cities, including Dallas, in 2021. “Every year brings incredible new innovations from small craft makers to the largest distillers. The result is liquid art, which we’re fortunate to be able to share with the country through this festival,” said Douglas Smith.
This year’s event will feature many unique expressions from Japan, Canada, Ireland and countries from across the globe. The one-of-a-kind tasting experience aims to foster a broader and deeper appreciation of the brown spirit and its complexities by connecting consumers and brands through curated experiences. While enjoying whiskey samples and hors d’oeuvres, guests also have the option to attend educational masterclasses with top distillers and their brand ambassadors.
Participating brands include Texas natives such as Garrison Brothers Distillery, Austin Craft Spirits, and Balcones Distilling, along with award-winning whiskies from Maker’s Mark, Uncle Nearest, Virginia Distillery & Co, Westward Whiskey and many more.

In addition to hundreds of whiskies available to taste, the general admission ticket ($100) provides guests with deliciously crafted culinary bites and a nosing glass to properly sip and swirl whisky like a pro. Intimate masterclasses ($5 fee, based on availability) are also available. For the ultimate whiskey-obsessed experience, the VIP ticket ($150) provides guests with early access to the event for more face-to-face time with distillers, priority reservations for the educational masterclasses and private access to additional high-end whiskies and culinary offerings.
