Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar to Celebrate 30th Anniversary on October 29

Texas’ original House of Song, Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar, has been belting out songs and battlin’ baby grands for 30 years! This one-of-a-kind live entertainment experience with its first location having opened in Austin in 1992 with additional locations opening throughout the years in Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and Chicago is a one-of-a-kind beat bumpin’, mic droppin’, live entertainment experience where everyone is a part of the show.

All locations will celebrate the monumental anniversary with a special toast at midnight on Saturday, October 29 along with a fantastic show from the dueling pianists.

Pete’s is where you can leave your cares at the door and join extraordinary musicians as they move the room to sing and dance their hearts out.

The first Pete’s location opened on Austin’s historic Sixth Street in 1992 as a one-man show, and went by the name Pete’s Peanut Bar & Piano Emporium, complete with peanuts on the floor. The main pianist at the time, Steven Green was hired by then 19-year-old Corey Urbach from the original Alley Cats. Four years later, Corey Urbach and Greg Sacony took over the bar when Urbach came up with the idea to shift Pete’s to a dueling piano bar. Since then, Pete’s has been an entertainment destination with a boisterous, music-driven party fueled by high-energy dueling pianos from A-list pianists.

Owner, Corey Urbach says, “Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar has been a labor of love for me over the past 30 years. It all started when I was just a door host, then quickly moved to general manager at the original Pete’s Peanut Bar in Austin, Texas. There, fellow friend of Pete, Greg Sacony took me under his wing as partner as he trusted my vision to execute the dueling piano bar concept while he provided me with the wisdom and business knowledge to make that vision a reality. I eventually became an owner in 1997, and in the years since we’ve expanded across Texas and up to Chicago. I’m proud to say that Pete’s is now one of the most successful dueling piano bars in the country, and it all started with a simple dream and a lot of hard work. It’s all thanks to Pete!”

With people driving far and wide to be a part of the fun, Urbach and Sacony decided to take their show on the road and open a second location in Addison in 2001. Not long after that Fort Worth followed opening in 2004, with Houston (2009) and most recently, Chicago (2019) openings bringing Pete’s magical show mix to five cities.

Pete’s is known for providing guests with a high-energy night full of players performing the latest and greatest hits, as well as oldies, to create a space where everyone will have fun and belt out their favorite tunes no matter what age. VIP experiences are also available to make the night extra special with packages for birthday parties, corporate events/company parties, bachelorette parties, holiday parties and more.

In celebration of the 30th anniversary, Pete’s will feature a special toast on Saturday, October 29 at midnight at all locations. Doors will open at 7 p.m. To reserve a table go to https://www.petesduelingpianobar.com
