Trespassers: James Prosek and the Texas Prairie has been extended through May 12, 2024, at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art (the Carter). This exhibition investigates the allure of Texas’s grasslands, while raising broader questions about the boundaries that shape, limit, and define prairie spaces in the present day. Inspired by his visits to native prairies across the state of Texas, artist and naturalist James Prosek has created over 20 new works that document the rich plant and wildlife diversity of these spaces.
Join us at the Carter on January 11, 2024, for an exclusive live recording of the podcast Mountain & Prairiein celebration of the Trespassers exhibition. During this Second Thursday at the Carter event, Ed Roberson, the host of the podcast, will join artist James Prosek in conversation about his visits to grassland habitats across the state of Texas and his artworks on view in the exhibition. An audience Q&A will follow their conversation. Seating for the talk is first come, first served.
