Notes Live, the music venue and hospitality enterprise, has announced plans to build the Sunset Amphitheater in McKinney, Texas. This impressive venue will have a capacity of 20,000 people and will be located northeast of the intersection of U.S. 75 and S.H. 121.
Concertgoers can expect an unparalleled experience, with every seat offering optimal comfort and unobstructed views of the stage, ensuring an immersive experience with high-quality sound. The Sunset Amphitheater will not only provide a fantastic music experience but also offer breathtaking vistas of the sunset against the backdrop of the stage.
Inspired by the success of Notes Live’s food and music hub in Colorado Springs, this project will cover 46 acres and include over 250 luxurious fire pit suites, traditional reserved seating in the mid and lower bowl sections, a beautifully landscaped grass berm, and Owners Club suites. JW Roth, the founder and CEO of Notes Live, expressed his excitement about bringing their biggest venue to McKinney, Texas. He stated, “They say everything’s bigger in Texas, and for the Sunset Amphitheater in McKinney, that was our guiding principle – bigger and better. McKinney is an incredible community, and we can’t wait to build the most over-the-top venue on earth.”
The construction of the Sunset Amphitheater is expected to create over 1,300 direct and indirect employment opportunities and stimulate over $3 billion in regional and local economic activity within its first ten years of operation. The construction is scheduled to begin in late 2024, with the aim of opening the venue in time for the 2026 concert touring season.
This open-air amphitheater will not only elevate McKinney’s status as a premier touring destination for top-tier national acts but also set a new benchmark for music venues in Texas. The project to bring this venue to McKinney was a collaborative effort between the city, the McKinney Economic Development Corporation, and the McKinney Community Development Corporation.
