If you’re drawn to the allure of fresh, seasonal cuisine served in a chic, mid-century modern setting, The Mont could be your next culinary destination. This forthcoming New American restaurant, anticipated to open this winter, is the latest upscale concept from Jeff Payne, owner of Cousin’s BBQ, in collaboration with Jason Cross, Vice President of Cousin’s operations.
Situated at 3729 Saint Amand Circle, just outside the Monserrat neighborhood on Fort Worth’s west side, The Mont aims to redefine dining with the expertise of Chef Michael Duff, a seasoned culinary professional with roots at Eddie V’s Fort Worth.
Chef Duff, who began his journey as a prep cook at Eddie V’s in 2010, has made significant contributions to the Fort Worth dining scene over the past decade. “Our approach is refined traditional cuisine inspired by seasonality, using familiar ingredients, modern techniques, and global influences,” Duff explains. “The menu will evolve constantly, reflecting the freshest produce, meat, and seafood available at any given time.”
The Mont’s dynamic menu will feature an array of dishes, including handmade pastas, wagyu steaks, and seafood, ensuring that every visit offers a new experience.

“I’ve long envisioned opening an upscale, chef-driven concept in the Fort Worth area,” Payne shares. “When we discovered this location near the Montserrat neighborhood, I knew it was the perfect setting. The restaurant is designed to deliver a beautiful dining experience, drawing inspiration from seasonal ingredients, global travel, nostalgic favorites, and our Texas roots.”
The restaurant’s design, a homage to the late 1950s and early 1960s mid-century modern style, features rich mahogany wood, luxurious leather, and ambient lighting, all meticulously crafted by Maven, a renowned Fort Worth design firm.
“We aspire to make this restaurant a source of pride for the community and a destination for travelers,” Payne adds. “Our goal is to enhance Fort Worth’s fine dining landscape while remaining an approachable, neighborhood spot.”
