Pokey O’s Cookies & Ice Cream, the beloved Dallas-based, family-owned brand, will be celebrating its 20th anniversary at its flagship location on Tuesday, March 11, 2025. To mark this exciting milestone, Pokey O’s will debut a new dessert creation, Pokey Bowls, which will be available starting the day after the celebration, on March 12.
The Oszustowicz family invites both loyal customers and newcomers to join them for their “birthday party.” On this special day, Pokey O’s signature Ice Cream Sandwiches will be available for just $2 (normally $5.99). In addition to the sandwich deal, guests will have the chance to win fantastic prizes, including ice cream sandwich catering, “cookies for a year,” and more through a raffle. Plus, there will be a spin-the-wheel for instant-win prizes. Don’t forget to look out for the beloved Pokey O’s mascot, who will also be on-site! As a special treat, every guest will receive a voucher to try the new Pokey Bowls for just $3 on their next visit.
Over the past two decades, Pokey O’s has become a cornerstone of the local community, with its welcoming Mockingbird Lane shop and its popular catering services. “We’re incredibly grateful to reach this milestone,” said co-owner Kathy Oszustowicz. “What started as a passion project has grown into a place where so many cherished memories have been made — from first dates and family outings to secret ice cream stops with grandpa. Not to mention, we’ve catered thousands of birthday parties, weddings, and other special celebrations.”
In honor of the anniversary, Pokey O’s will introduce Pokey Bowls, custom sundaes served in warm cookie or brownie bowls, starting on March 12. Guests can choose from three sizes — the Puppy Bowl, Pokey Bowl, and Big Dog Bowl — each customizable with 16 Blue Bell Ice Cream flavors, more than 10 toppings, plus a branded wafer, whipped cream, and a cherry.

- Puppy Bowl: A warm cookie or brownie bowl with one generous scoop of Blue Bell Ice Cream, two toppings, a branded wafer, whipped cream, and a cherry. ($6.99)
- Pokey Bowl: A warm cookie or brownie bowl with two generous scoops of Blue Bell Ice Cream, two toppings, a branded wafer, whipped cream, and a cherry. ($8.99)
- Big Dog Bowl: A double warm cookie or brownie bowl with five generous scoops of Blue Bell Ice Cream, five toppings, a white chocolate-dipped pretzel, a branded wafer, whipped cream, and three cherries. ($19.99)
Located next to Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Pokey O’s was the FIRST shop in the DFW area to offer custom ice cream sandwiches. Their freshly baked cookies are made in-house throughout the day and can even be delivered warm via delivery apps. Pokey O’s also provides catering services, offering customized desserts for any event or gathering.
