Esparza’s Restaurante Mexicano, a staple in Grapevine, Texas, is celebrating a remarkable milestone in May 2025—its 40th anniversary. Located at 124 E. Worth St. in the historic Grapevine District, this local favorite has served up sizzling Tex-Mex classics, legendary margaritas, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere since first opening its doors on May 1, 1985. Housed in a lovingly renovated home from the late 1800s, Esparza’s blends rich history with vibrant flavor, earning its place as both a culinary institution and a community cornerstone.
Over the decades, Esparza’s has become more than just a restaurant—it’s a Grapevine legacy. It holds the official title of Margarita Capital of Texas, a testament to the staggering number of margaritas it serves each year. Behind its enduring success is a dedicated team, with five employees who have been with the restaurant for more than 30 years, ten who have surpassed 25 years, and thirteen more boasting over 15 years of service. Among them is General Manager Gabriel Diaz, who started as a teenage busboy and has spent more than three decades helping shape the Esparza’s experience.
To mark this four-decade milestone, Esparza’s will host a special all-day Happy Hour on May 1, 2025, inviting guests to raise a glass and celebrate the flavors, people, and history that have made it a Grapevine original for 40 unforgettable years.
