The Cowtown Farmers Market is once again partnering with the Tarrant Area Food Bank (TAFB) to bring back its weekly indoor summer market, offering fresh, locally grown produce in a cool, welcoming environment. Held at TAFB’s Sid W. Richardson Foundation Agricultural Hub (AgHub), the market will run every Thursday from June 5 through July 31, with the exception of June 19. Open from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., this seasonal event connects residents with healthy food options and directly supports North Texas farmers.
The indoor market at 205 N. Vacek Street in Fort Worth transforms each week into a vibrant community space where shoppers can browse tables brimming with tomatoes, onions, peppers, squash, and leafy greens — all harvested by local growers. More than just a place to pick up ingredients, the market is designed to make fresh food more accessible. In addition to accepting cash and credit, it honors both Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) and Senior FMNP vouchers. These programs allow qualifying families with young children and older adults to receive produce at no cost.
TAFB’s indoor market plays a crucial role in improving access to nutritious food, particularly in the 76107 area. By hosting the market in the early evening, the event offers flexibility for working families and individuals who may not be able to attend morning or weekend markets. The food bank is also working in partnership with the Junior League Diaper Bank to distribute free diapers to eligible families during market hours — another layer of essential support for local households.
By participating in this market, shoppers aren’t just feeding their families with better ingredients — they’re also investing in the local food system and helping sustain small-scale agriculture in North Texas. The Cowtown Farmers Market at the AgHub stands as a powerful example of community-focused collaboration, bringing together fresh food, essential services, and genuine connection under one roof.
