Be Home Soon, the East Dallas restaurant known for its ever-changing weekly menus and eclectic charm, has officially closed its doors. Located in the Casa Linda neighborhood, the restaurant was a culinary venture by Madison King, a local singer-songwriter and chef. Despite initial enthusiasm and a unique concept, the establishment faced significant challenges that ultimately led to its closure.
Madison King, who co-owned the restaurant with business partner Russ Kirk, operated the kitchen alongside chef Joey Fink, while longtime friend Pablo Rivera managed the front of the house. The trio envisioned Be Home Soon as a place where community and culinary creativity could thrive. The menu featured a rotating selection of dishes, from poached chicken vermicelli bowls to BBQ pork ribs, reflecting King’s diverse culinary influences and commitment to fresh, seasonal ingredients. The interior design echoed this eclectic spirit, with vibrant purple seating, a colorful bar, and a mural that added character to the dining experience.
In a heartfelt statement, King expressed her gratitude for the community’s support and shared the difficulties she encountered in sustaining the restaurant. “Good news, bad news. Bad news is that this will be our final week of service at Be Home Soon. Good news is that we have a million ideas how to keep bringing y’all home cooking…” the note on the door stated. The decision to close was not made lightly, reflecting the harsh realities many small businesses face in a competitive and unpredictable market.
Be Home Soon’s closing marks the end of a memorable chapter in Dallas’s dining scene, leaving behind a legacy of creativity and warmth. Guests will fondly remember the restaurant not just for its inventive weekly menus, but for the joy, passion, and personal touch that Madison King brought to every dish. Its spirit continues to inspire the local food community and reminds diners of the magic that small, independent restaurants can bring to a neighborhood.
