As the holidays approach and SNAP uncertainty, the Tarrant Area Food Bank North is stepping up to make sure no family in Denton County goes hungry. On Tuesday, November 4, the organization will host a Holiday Mega Mobile Distribution at C.H. Collins Athletic Complex, 1500 Long Road in Denton, offering groceries and essential food items to more than 1,000 families while supplies last. The distribution will take place from 10 a.m. to noon, providing a vital lifeline for families feeling the strain of rising costs and recent challenges such as the federal shutdown and temporary pause in SNAP benefits.
This special event is open to everyone — no identification or documentation is required to receive food assistance. Neighbors from across Denton County and beyond are welcome to participate. The goal is simple but powerful: to ensure that every child, parent, and individual in North Texas has access to nutritious food during a season that can often magnify financial hardships.
“The holidays should be a time of comfort, not concern,” said Jared Williams, Vice President of External Affairs for Tarrant Area Food Bank. “We want every family in our community to know they’re supported and that help is available.”
The Holiday Mega Mobile Distribution embodies the mission of Tarrant Area Food Bank — to fight hunger and provide hope. Volunteers and staff will be on-site distributing boxes of food filled with fresh produce, pantry staples, and seasonal goods designed to bring warmth to the table. The event is part of TAFB’s broader effort to meet the growing demand for food assistance as more North Texans face uncertainty about their next meal.
With this initiative, Tarrant Area Food Bank North continues its commitment to ensuring that no family in Denton County — or beyond — faces the holidays on an empty stomach.
