Dallas Mavericks Appoint Gina Miller as Chief Communications Officer

The Dallas Mavericks have named Gina Miller as their Chief Communications Officer, reporting to CEO Rick Welts, effective immediately. In this new role, she will oversee corporate communications, basketball communications, and broadcasting.

Gina is an industry powerhouse, highly respected for her strategic leadership in North Texas and beyond,” said Welts. “We’re fortunate to have her expertise as we continue growing into a premier sports and entertainment organization.”

Miller brings nearly 30 years of sports industry experience, most recently as Vice President of Broadcasting, Media, and Communications for FC Dallas, North Texas SC, the National Soccer Hall of Fame, and Toyota Stadium. She led FC Dallas’ first paid local TV deal, launched its broadcast affiliate network across Texas, and advised on Dallas’ successful FIFA World Cup 2026™ host city bid.

A third-generation Dallas native, Miller began her career as a Houston Rockets intern during their 1994–95 championship season and later became a sports anchor and host in Dallas, Los Angeles, and beyond. She co-hosted Mavericks Game Night for over a decade and has earned an Edward R. Murrow Award, multiple Lone Star Emmy nominations, and honors from WISE DFW and PRNews.

I grew up loving this franchise,” said Miller. “To now serve it in a leadership role is incredibly meaningful. I’m excited to help shape the Mavericks’ next chapter—one that connects deeply with our fans, our city, and the global basketball community.”
