Last night we checked out the latest bar owned by Brad Hensarling, Gold Standard which just opened two days ago. Hensarling is most famous for his killer good bar, The Usual. You may also know Brad from his stint at Campo in Oak Cliff where he created the first cocktail list to pair up with Matt McCallister’s opening dishes. Ten Bells Tavern Now Open
The new Oak Cliff bar and grill Ten Bells opened their doors this past weekend to a huge crowd of happy revelers. Last minute preparations including building a half dozen picnic tables and pouring a patterned concrete patio literally hours before opening Saturday afternoon.
The energy level was high as the opening celebration and was extremely pet friendly and featured a “pooch pool party and dog wash” fundraiser for Animal Rescue of Texas. Continue reading →

Inwood Tavern Celebrates 48 Years In Business
I personally enjoy a good neighborhood bar. Some are more divey than others, but the elements are all straight: relaxed and unpretentious, cheap drinks and a loud crowd. Throw in a world class juke box and you have described Nirvana to me.
