Brew Riot is an annual celebration of local home brew culture, and this year’s event (in Bishop Arts this Sunday from 4pm-7pm) features 51 home brewing teams with over 150 different types of beer. Each of the teams is required to bring 5 gallons of each entry, and they will be judged by local professional brewers including Frtiz Rahr from Rahr and Sons Brewing Company, Dennis Wehrmann from Franconia Brewing Company, Wim Bens from Lakewood Brewing Company, Tait Lifto from Deep Ellum Brewing Company, and Greg Leftwich from Four Corners Brewing Company. Of course there’s also a People’s Choice – for $20 you can sample all 150 beers (or as many as you decide is a good idea since we presume you have to work on Monday morning). Continue reading
