Gold Standard Opens In FW With A Food Truck Park Of Its Very Own

by Steven Doyle

Last night we checked out the latest bar owned by Brad Hensarling, Gold Standard which just opened two days ago. Hensarling is most famous for his killer good bar, The Usual. You may also know Brad from his stint at Campo in Oak Cliff where he created the first cocktail list to pair up with Matt McCallister’s opening dishes. Hensarling also owns the Chat Room which is located within walking distance from The Usual on West Magnolia.

The new bar is located next to Montgomery Plaza on Fort Worth’s West 7th in the former 7th  Haven in the 2700 block. Hensarling has done some remarkable remodeling; including adding a scenic rooftop bar, but for the most part didn’t alter the location too dramatically besides adding his flair for kicked up cocktails.

Another feature of the bar which makes it stand out is its own food truck park located at the back of the building called the Seventh Street Food Court. Last night a few trucks lined up to served patrons as they meandered into or from the new bar. Look for up to nine trucks to line up outside the bar in coming weeks.

Hensarling told craveDFW that the bar had a definite shelf life in the fact he only signed a single year lease. After that the spot goes back to the landlord who has plenty of people lined up to take over the coveted real estate.

Look for a definite dive feel at Gold Standard with great music, plenty of fun people and fantastic drinks.
