If you missed us this past Sunday on craveRADIO you missed a huge show. We invited Jim White who ran a top-notch restaurant show on KRLD and currently operates that marvelous food and wine festival, Savor Dallas. We wanted Jim to come on the show to reminisce about his stint as radio host and asked that he bring along his favorite guests. It didn’t take this radio pro long to round up some amazing people to entertain us and share some fantastic stories.
Among the guest line up included chef Karel Anne Tieszen who hunts and gathers chefs for the week long event. Tieszen shared plenty of interesting behind the scenes stories that goes along with running a top tier food and wine event.
Also on the program Fall Creek’s Susan Auler phoned into the studio to discuss the state of Texas wines and the many varietals that are doing so well in the warm Texas climate. Auler was inspiration for start Savor Dallas. You will enjoy this segment.
Next on the program we chatted with Janice Provost, chef-owner of Parigi in Dallas. Janice operates a gem of a restaurant on Oak Lawn and is extremely active in the community, offering her time and services when asked. Janice and her ex-business partner Chad Houser started the inspiring Cafe Momentum that gives young men a leg up in life with training in the restaurant industry.
As if this wan’t enough to offer in the short two hours we were thrilled to chat with Dotty Griffith, former food editor at the Dallas Morning News, who shared with us her favorite recipes from her Texas Holiday Cookbook which is now in its second edition. We were sure to ask her about favorite restaurants in the Dallas area, and she had plenty to offer.
If you missed our program you can still hear us below. Stay tuned each Sunday from 4 to 6pm on 1190am or streaming live on IHeartRadio.com.
