Origin Kitchen + Bar will officially open today, Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at 4438 McKinney Ave, Ste. 150. The restaurant concept – created and owned by Russell and Jessica Aldredge – features rustic California-inspired cuisine that will serve dinner, with a bistro-style breakfast, lunch and coffee bar.
“During a trip to Portland last year, we had the meal of our lives at a small French restaurant and knew the style and ambiance was what we wanted to recreate in Dallas,” said Jess and Russell. “We want people to have an experience when they dine with us and feel like they are part of the process.”
Guests can sit at a table, booth or even dine at the bar, but the real treat is the Chef’s Table, where you can watch Executive Chef Jeff Smith and his team create menu items that range from the classic Windy Meadows Farm pastured chicken salad to a gourmet elk tenderloin.
“The menu highlights fresh, expertly-sourced ingredients, which will change as the seasons evolve,” said Executive Chef Jeff Smith.
The unique craft cocktail menu, developed by Bar Manager Jacob Boger, features house-made infusions, syrups, juices and vermouth. The cocktail menu is driven by the flavors of the season, creatively prepared to compliment the menu.
In addition to the cocktail menu, the wine options are plentiful and there are five local rotating beers on tap with a variety of bottle options, all at approachable price points. Happy Hour will be 5 -7 p.m., Tuesday to Friday. “Throw out your standard happy hour formula of cheap drinks with a cheap taste. Through the use of herbs, spices, preserves, and more our bartenders will make like mad scientists to deliver a one of a kind experience,” says Boger.
Origin will offer counter service breakfast, lunch and craft coffee seven days a week, 7:30 a.m. through lunch at 2 p.m. Dinner will be served Tuesday through Sunday, 5 – 10 p.m.
