Rumors have been flying recently about the Village Kitchen, Toko V and Village Bar closing, and I just received confirmation from partner Mark Hearl that they have reached an agreement with the owners of Highland Park Village to close the restaurant at the end of this month.
“It just made sense to go forward with this decision. We wanted to wait to announce this so employees may transition into another position,” said Hearl via telephone moments ago.
Going forward Hearl and company will focus on locations that are productive, such as Common Table and a yet to be announced project that they have been working on for some time. For this they are retaining chef Andre Natera. The iconic Highland Park Village Theater will remain in business. As for the fate of the restaurants we were told by other sources that it may turn into retail space, which has been so profitable for the shopping center.
