New Houndstooth Open at Hill Shopping Center

Texas-based business Houndstooth Coffee’s newest location at The Hill Shopping Center in North Dallas is now open. Located at 9730 N. Central Expressway, the cafe is situated on property at TreeHouse, the world’s first Home Upgrade Company, and marks the third Dallas cafe and fifth overall for the brand.

“Dallas has been so welcoming since we put down roots in this city three years ago,” said Sean Henry, founder and owner of Houndstooth Coffee. “We’re excited to be part of the growth of the Walnut Hill neighborhood and to be able to offer another location for our old friends and new guests to meet.”

Situated in two Lake Flato-designed tiny porch houses, the new cafe offers plenty of seating and a large parking area right on the TreeHouse lot that is outfitted with eight Tesla supercharging stations. With a prime location right on the northeast corner of Walnut Hill Lane and US-75, the new cafe offers an ideal, easily accessible spot for people in the North Dallas and neighboring Plano and Richardson communities to come together. The cafe also offers a meetings package, allowing the smaller north porch house, dubbed the “Schoolhouse,” to be reserved for private group gatherings, including coffee and tea service for up to 20 people. The space is available to rent for up to two hours and can be reserved in advance by email.

In addition, the location is the first in Texas to be equipped with a Mavam Espresso machine, an under-counter espresso machine that features a low profile interface, offering guests greater visibility into the drink preparation process and a better platform for barista-to-guest interaction. In line with TreeHouse’s focus on sustainable living and reputation of its Dallas location being the world’s first energy positive big-box store, Houndstooth Coffee’s newest cafe is powered by solar energy and employed renewable and sustainable building materials and practices during construction.

The new Walnut Hill location offers Houndstooth Coffee’s signature menu of handcrafted coffee, espresso, and tea drinks, along with pastries, donuts, and breakfast tacos from Tacodeli. The brand is also known for its creative, seasonal, limited edition beverages and coffee mocktails. In time for the holidays, throughout the month of December, and in all cafes, Houndstooth Coffee will offer the limited time Rhum Nut Cappuccino and Cinnamon Spice Cappuccino crafted with housemade simple syrups.

Houndstooth Coffee currently has two locations in Dallas — one on Henderson Ave. and another location at the Sylvan | Thirty development with adjacent sister cocktail bar Jettison — along with two locations in Austin. In addition to this new Dallas location at The Hill Shopping Center, Houndstooth Coffee continues its upward trend of growth with the opening of a third Austin cafe this winter, located at Platform, a new mixed-use development in East Austin.
