Dallas’ favorite producer only farmers market organization – Good Local Markets returns Sunday, February 14 at Lakewood Village Farmers Market (6434 E. Mockingbird Lane). Held every Sunday through August 15 from 9am-1pm, Good Local Markets showcases all-local produce, meats and eggs, bread and pastries, honey, pickles, jams and specialty foods as well as local artisans featuring handmade crafts.
Lakewood Village vendors include Fruth Farms Southwest, Chandler Family Farm, Highway 19 Farm, Texas Fungus, Along Came Tamale, Rowlett Coffee Roastery, Lost Ruby Ranch, John C Pottery and Tree Folk Farm and several others.
“With fresh food offerings and farmers deemed essential, we were thankful to fulfill our 2020 season through the Covid 19 pandemic,” says Casey Cutler, executive director of Good Local Markets. “We will continue to take all safety precautions including 10 feet between booths, ample space for socially distanced customers, sanitation stations, no touch shopping and masks.”
In addition to Lakewood Village Farmers Market, Good Local Markets also has the White Rock Local Market location (9150 Garland Road) which will be held every Saturday beginning March 13 from 8am-noon through December 18.
All Good Local Vendors are certified local, no resellers no distributors. Good Local Markets requires that vendors come from 150 mile radius of Dallas and must grow or make their own products. Good Local staff even visits each farm and ranch to ensure locally grown and ethically raised.
Good Local Markets is a 501 (c)(3) tax exempt nonprofit organization whose mission is to support local farmers and ranchers, incubate small businesses, increase food access, strengthen the local food movement, and create healthy communities
