On August 10, Harwood International’s Hôtel Swexan will unveil two new concepts, Babou’s and Library at Babou’s. Babou’s will serve as a captivating, energizing late-night lounge and nightclub with DJs playing every weekend, perfectly complemented by the Library at Babou’s, an intimate enclave to indulge in inspiring conversation amidst the charm of towering bookshelves and plush leather seating. Named after Salvador Dali’s pet ocelot and open to both visitors and hotel guests alike, Babou’s is a lower-level hideaway designed with the guest experience in mind, where every night is a show in which patrons are the headlining act.

Babou’s showcases a number of design elements that command attention, like the sparkling disco ball illuminated by colorful beams of light and exquisite fourth-generation art from Ann and Gabriel Barbier-Muellers’ privately owned Samurai Collection. Patrons are also welcome to engage in an opulent and exclusive bottle service for six to eight people, adding an extra touch of extravagance to an unforgettable evening affair. Adjacent to Babou’s and just a bookcase away, Library at Babou’s serves as a delightful prelude (or retreat) to a night of revelry. Guests are encouraged to embrace the allure of the cozy furniture while savoring meticulously crafted cocktails.
The ambiance is lined with the wisdom of literary greats, enveloping guests in an atmosphere that celebrates both the art of libations and the written word.

“We wanted to create a playful destination where the excitement of the city meets the elegance and importance of meaningful conversations,” said Justin Vaiciunas, Director of Food and Beverage, “Our goal is to inspire guests and locals alike to celebrate, mix and mingle, sharing friendships both old and new – whether that be dancing the night away or having a meaningful conversation in a high-design atmosphere.”
With a cocktail program drawing inspiration from many different regions of the world, Babou’s serves a variety of signature drinks including The Devil Was a Ginger made with blanco tequila, lime, very berry oleo and ginger beer, Coconuts? PHUKET! featuring strawberry vodka, Amaro, yuzu, baking spiced coconut and boba, and Mr. Salvador Dali with blends of rum, acidified pineapple, strawberry banana and tiki bitters.

Complementing the libations, Babou’s cuisine will be focused on traditional bar food with an elevated twist, with cocktail fare highlights including Mini Wagyu Corndogs and Lobster Steam Buns. In addition to the evening offering from 5:00 pm to 2:00 am, Babou’s and The Library at Babou’s will also be available for private events; inquiries can be submitted via the website. Dallas’ newest and most vibrant gathering spot, Babou’s sets the stage for unparalleled merrymaking.
