Headington Companies is excited to announce the reopening of Mirador on December 8. This beloved 100-seat restaurant returns to the penthouse level of the designer boutique Forty Five Ten. By day, it’s a downtown destination for lunch, special celebrations, and a modern afternoon tea on Saturdays. In the evening, fully renovated spaces will accommodate larger private events.
While the interiors and brand have been transformed, Mirador’s elegant yet approachable menu of modern American cuisine returns, highlighting its clientele’s long list of favorites, including Parmesan Tomato Soup, Orecchiette, Chicken Paillard, Farro Bowl, the fan-favorite Chicken Bites and the famously celebratory dessert, Pavlova. Several new dishes reinforce Mirador’s reputation for playing with classics and well-known ingredients but with a level of innovation and sophisticated whimsy. Highlights include Beef Tartare, featuring housemade harissa and lavash with piquillo peppers and sweet kombu; Wild Mushrooms, a zero-waste dish that puts the fungi’s trimmings through a 24-hr dehydration process, resulting in a powder to season the crispy rice paper garnish.
Chef Travis Wyatt helms the culinary team as Mirador’s executive chef (previously the restaurant’s executive lead cook from 2017-2019). During the year-long renovation, Chef Wyatt refined the menu with Coner Seargeant, Headington Cos. Vice President of Restaurants, and the portfolio’s Executive Pastry Chef, Ruben Toraño, who also returned to the team in 2023. Once back together again, the culinary team reengaged with its favorite purveyors like Comeback Creek (Pittsburg, TX), Allen Brothers (Chicago, IL), and Profound Micro Farms (Lucas, TX) to create a seasonally celebratory menu.
“Mirador is what downtown has been missing lately,” says Headington Cos. Chief Marketing Officer Jeny Bania. “Not only a perfect destination for lunch post-shopping at Forty Five Ten or a leisurely tea, it’s the most gorgeous space for hosting a party, large or small.”

On The Menu
Chef Wyatt was intent on bringing back the Mirador classics. “People became quite nostalgic for their favorite Mirador dishes more than anywhere else I’ve worked,” said Wyatt. “I knew if we didn’t bring back those and our signature pavlova that we’d hear about it.” Those most excited about Mirador’s reopening may be the well-heeled clientele of Forty Five Ten who patroned the restaurant for celebrations, philanthropic events, lunch with friends, and cocktails after an afternoon shopping excursion.
While the lunch menu looks familiar, Chef Wyatt and team have added a new experience for diners on Saturdays: the Modern Afternoon Tea. Held every Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm for $89, this tea experience provides an even greater expanse for Wyatt to creatively interpret classics. Clients will not find the traditional tiered trays of sweets and savories, but rather a dim sum-inspired presentation of indulgent and artful bites on small, matte white dishes from Seoul studio Mujagi. Among the highlights: a play on the cucumber sandwich, turning the traditional iteration into a smoked cucumber-seared dumpling. Though the base price includes the tea and a glass of bubbly, guests will have the chance to upgrade their experience with Champagne flights, caviar supplements, and a “Seconds, Please!” by-the-bite menu. A special children’s menu for kids 10 years and under will be served for $89 and includes bottomless hot chocolate, endless chicken bites, and an exclusive (and cuddly) gift.
Tickets are available on RESY for dates Dec 9 – 30 and will be opened on the first of the month rolling forward. Those on Mirador and Forty Five Ten’s email list will receive early notification of reservation openings.
