Owner of Dive Coastal Cuisine, Franchesca Nor, has always been committed to sustainability and fresh, locally-sourced food at her restaurant and now she is bringing this passion to 4DWN, a local skate park dedicated to service and community. Together, Dive Coastal Cuisine and 4DWN are embarking on an exciting new venture, DiveDWN, that combines cutting-edge Growtainer® technology with a vision for a brighter, greener future.
DiveDWN is set to officially open on Saturday, May 11 kicking things off with FutureFest from 12 pm – 5 pm which is free to attend. FutureFest is a community event celebrating creativity and sustainability with a local artisan market, food from Dive Coastal Cuisine and other partners, live DJs, youth and female skaters, and Mother’s Day-themed activities like making your own flower bouquet.
Nor says of the partnership, “At Dive, our belief has always been that sustainability is the key to improving not just the restaurant but also the neighborhood, community, and planet. Our core values of responsibility, education, transparency, and community have guided our journey thus far. Now, with the 4DWN partnership, these values are taking on a new dimension.”
The heart of this partnership is the creation of a Future Farm, a high-tech container garden that utilizes state-of-the-art Growtainer® technology. This innovative container garden will serve a dual purpose. First, it will enable Dive to sustainably source fresh produce for the restaurant, ensuring that customers know exactly where their food comes from. Secondly, the Future Farm will serve as a hub for education, cultivation, and conservation.
The two climate-controlled containers measure 40 feet in length where DiveDWN can grow up to 36,000 heads of lettuce annually in colder temperatures and when warmer, crops like tomatoes can thrive. A deck will surround these containers featuring planters growing outdoor crops and a viewing deck for the skate park, creating a welcoming environment.

Nor is committed to not only providing fresh food but also educating the community on how to grow and use it effectively. This initiative includes:
Donation of Plants: Each box of groceries given to families every Sunday at 4DWN will come with a donation of a plant from DiveDWN, empowering families to grow their own food.
Cooking Classes: Nor will offer cooking classes and provide recipe cards to educate and help individuals make the most of their fresh ingredients.
Composting: Nor will also include composting efforts to ensure zero waste, aligning with Dive’s commitment to sustainability.
Nor stated, “Our partnership with 4DWN represents a significant step forward in our mission to make sustainable, fresh food accessible to all. Together, we aim to build a community where families can not only enjoy delicious, locally-sourced food but also learn to grow their own and reduce food waste.“
This collaboration between Dive and 4DWN promises to bring positive change to the local community, demonstrating the power of sustainability, education, and community involvement. DiveDWN is set to open Saturday, May 11.
