This fall, Dallas will once again be the epicenter of gastronomic delight as the Chefs For Farmers festival celebrates its 14th year with an impressive roster of chefs and restaurants. Kicking off on Friday, November 1, and culminating in The Main Event on Sunday, November 3, this beloved festival promises an unforgettable experience for food enthusiasts.
This year, Chefs For Farmers is excited to partner with McKinney Roots, a Seed Project Foundation initiative dedicated to alleviating hunger by supplying fresh produce to local nonprofits and schools. The collaboration aims to support community health through nutrient-rich food, emphasizing the festival’s commitment to social impact. Another exciting addition is Giving Tree Acres, which focuses on providing organically grown food to underserved communities, further expanding the festival’s reach and mission.
A Journey from Dinners to a Festival
Founded in 2010, Chefs For Farmers began as a series of intimate farm-to-table dinners, showcasing the talents of local chefs. Over the years, it has transformed into a multi-day festival that celebrates culinary artistry and fosters community connections. Recognizing a gap in the Dallas food scene, the festival has evolved to not only highlight local talent but also to make a significant impact on the community and support local farms, now extending its influence to Houston as well.
“The festival resonates deeply with the Dallas community because it’s a vibrant celebration where people can relax, savor exceptional food, and support small businesses,” says Iris Midler, founder and producer of Chefs For Farmers. “It’s more than just an event; it’s a gathering of hearts and minds passionate about local culinary excellence.”

Meet the Farmers and Chefs
This year’s festival will showcase 12 local farms that offer a wide array of produce, meats, and more, including familiar names like Comeback Creek Farm and Millbrook Mushrooms. This diverse selection underscores the festival’s dedication to sustainability and local agriculture.
Chefs from across the region, including notable figures like John Tesar of Knife Steakhouse and Jon Bonnell of Bonnell’s Restaurant Group, will be on hand, creating dishes that celebrate the best of what North Texas has to offer. Festival-goers can anticipate a delightful culinary journey filled with innovative bites and fresh flavors.
Chefs For Farmers isn’t just about the food—it’s a lively celebration. The weekend promises live music, engaging activities, and an inviting atmosphere where guests can mingle and enjoy themselves. Attendees can indulge in a wide variety of libations from local breweries, wineries, and spirit vendors, ensuring that the drinks flow as freely as the creativity in the kitchen.
Notable beverage partners include Maker’s Mark, Don Julio, and Angels Envy, offering an extensive selection to complement the mouth-watering culinary offerings. Each ticket to The Main Event provides access to unlimited food and drink, making it a truly immersive experience.

The Main Event: A Must-Attend Celebration
The festival culminates in the highly anticipated Main Event at Old City Park on November 3, where attendees can sample an exquisite array of dishes from renowned chefs. With VIP access starting at 2:00 p.m. and general admission opening at 3:00 p.m., guests are in for an afternoon of culinary exploration. This year, attendees will also have the opportunity to vote for their favorite dish, adding an interactive element to the festivities.
Each General Admission ticket includes a donation of $25 to The Seed Project Foundation, reinforcing the festival’s commitment to community impact and support for local food initiatives.
