The Mexican Launches Lunch

The Mexican, a standout in the Dallas Design District, is renowned for its stunning dining room showcasing the talents of Mexican artisans, a menu packed with traditional flavors, and an impressive tequila selection. It’s a place that draws a crowd every evening, whether it’s for dinner, drinks at the bar, or relaxing at the exclusive Monterey Club cigar lounge. And now, it’s kicking off something new—starting this Sunday, lunch service will be available for the first time. The same unforgettable experience you love is just a few hours earlier.

Sunday lunch will run from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., offering all the signature dishes guests have come to crave. Think hot and cold shared plates, soups, salads, tacos, enchiladas, grill selections, seafood, and hearty family-style sides.

A few must-try starters include the irresistible guacamole divorciado, vibrant ceviches and aguachiles, melt-in-your-mouth queso fundido, and indulgent lobster elote. For tacos, expect bold combos like camerones gobernador (sauteed shrimp, bacon, red peppers, and Oaxaca cheese), filet and bone marrow, and crispy red snapper. Seven enchilada varieties include grilled beef filet, chicken with creamy green salsa, a vegetarian option with mushrooms, smoked corn, and poblanos, plus a seafood trio with shrimp, king crab, and lobster.

The grill section serves everything from a tender six-ounce filet to a show-stopping 33-ounce tomahawk wagyu ribeye. Seafood lovers can enjoy Ora king salmon or sesame-crusted sushi-grade yellowfin tuna. And for something truly special, the “on the rock” section offers mesquite-grilled delights—A5 Miyazaki wagyu, jumbo prawns, chile-lime-marinated chicken—served sizzling on a hot lava rock, with roasted peppers, onions, cilantro-lime rice, black beans, pico de gallo, and house-made corn tortillas.

Reservations are available on OpenTable, but you can also simply walk in on Sundays to experience a laid-back yet unforgettable lunch in the beautiful dining room or on the inviting patio. Sip a Margarita or a glass of wine, and wrap up your weekend in style.

The Mexican is located at 1401 Turtle Creek Blvd in Dallas. For more details, including hours and menus, head to themexican.com.
