Dallas might be best known for brisket and Tex-Mex, but its Indian food scene is every bit as dynamic—and growing fast. From lavish buffets and family-run curry houses to sleek modern bistros and street food specialists, the city offers a wide range of Indian dining experiences that reflect the diversity of the cuisine itself. Whether you’re in the mood for fiery South Indian dosas, creamy North Indian butter chicken, or inventive fusion takes like tikka masala pizza, you’ll find no shortage of options across Dallas and its suburbs.

Thanks to a large Indian community, many of these restaurants are deeply rooted in tradition while still embracing creativity. Some specialize in specific regional fare—from Gujarati thalis to Hyderabadi biryanis—while others offer pan-Indian menus with something for everyone. Halal-friendly kitchens, all-vegetarian menus, and modern cocktail programs are increasingly common, meaning there’s a spot for every palate and occasion.
Here are some restaurants we have not featured. We added Kalachandji’s because we can.

Found inside a Krishna temple and spiritual community center, Kalachandi’s is a Dallas institution for vegetarian Indian cuisine. The buffet features rotating daily selections of South Indian and North Indian staples, often including lentil stews, vegetable curries, basmati rice, chutneys, and their famous homemade whole wheat cinnamon bread. A salad bar and vegan-friendly options round out the offerings.
