Get ready, Texas! Everyone’s favorite blue engine is rolling into town, and he’s bringing a party 80 years in the making. Day Out With Thomas: The Party Tour is making a highly anticipated stop at the Grapevine Vintage Railroad on two festive weekends: October 10–12 and 17–19, 2025. This year’s celebration is extra special as it marks Thomas the Tank Engine’s 80th birthday—a milestone worthy of confetti, cake, and locomotive-sized fun.
For the past 30 years, Day Out With Thomas has delighted families around the world with joyful, train-themed events at heritage railways. In Grapevine, each ticket includes a 20-minute ride aboard a life-sized, talking Thomas the Tank Engine, plus access to an entire day packed with engaging activities. Kids can meet Sir Topham Hatt, play lawn games, explore Celebration Station, collect temporary tattoos, enjoy the tricycle corral, and dive into creative corners like coloring zones and sandbox play. There will be live puppet shows, animal encounters, interactive storytelling, and plenty of photo ops—including with Thomas himself, decked out in festive confetti for the occasion.
Guests will also receive an activity sheet guiding them through four key station stops—each offering a free giveaway to complete their adventure. Hungry families can grab a bite from on-site vendors, and shoppers can browse the pop-up gift shop stocked with exclusive Thomas & Friends merchandise only available at the event.
The event takes place at 705 S. Main Street in the heart of Grapevine, hosted by the Museum of the American Railroad and the Grapevine Vintage Railroad—proud partners of this magical experience since 2002. Admission is $26 for guests aged 1 and up, and tickets are available now. Advanced purchase is strongly recommended as this event often sells out. Walk-up tickets will be available only if space allows.
