Burger Schmurger is bringing the sizzle back to the Lake Highlands Fourth of July Parade, returning for its third consecutive year with a burger-grilling parade trailer, festive giveaways and a community celebration that extends beyond the parade route.
Taking place on Saturday, July 4, 2026 at 9 a.m., the annual Lake Highlands Fourth of July Parade is one of Dallas’ most beloved Independence Day traditions, drawing thousands of residents, families and visitors to celebrate the holiday together. Following an enthusiastic reception during its participation the past two years, Burger Schmurger is returning with even more patriotic spirit and neighborhood fun.
Throughout the parade, the Burger Schmurger team will cook burgers aboard a custom trailer while making its way through the route. Guests can also look forward to wrapped burgers tossed to lucky attendees, burger-themed candy, branded merchandise and a team decked out in exclusive Fourth of July Burger Schmurger apparel created specifically for the occasion.
“We had an incredible time participating in the parade last year and knew immediately we wanted to come back,” said Dave Culwell, Owner of Burger Schmurger. “The Lake Highlands community has embraced us in such a meaningful way, and this is our chance to celebrate alongside our neighbors while having a little fun with it.”
Following the parade, Burger Schmurger will continue the festivities at the restaurant, where guests are invited to gather for a post-parade celebration. Last year’s event drew a strong crowd of parade attendees, and the team expects another lively turnout this year. To kick off the festivities, Burger Schmurger will open at 10 a.m., an hour earlier than usual, and encourages guests to wear red, white and blue attire to celebrate the occasion.
The parade appearance reflects Burger Schmurger’s commitment to the East Dallas community and its growing role in one of the neighborhood’s most anticipated annual traditions.
