Bread Winners Café & Bakery Passes to New Ownership

After nearly three decades, Bread Winners Café & Bakery Founders, Jim and Cindy Hughes, have sold the twenty-eight-year-old Bread Winners brand to Josh Bock of Stratega Capital but it’s a dream scenario for the couple, as Bock plans to keep the current management team in place – which includes two of Hughes four children and many long-time employees. Josh will take over not only the four Bread Winners Café & Bakery locations and Bread Winners Catering division, but Uptown’s popular Quarter Bar as well. Harlowe MXM and Henry’s Majestic are not a part of the merger and will remain with the Hughes family.

“Deciding to move on from this concept we’ve poured so much of our lives into was a bittersweet decision, but we felt the timing was right. We are looking forward to spending more time with our grandkids and family, but we will miss our Bread Winners family,” said Jim Hughes.

Sfuzzi, the Neighborhood Italian Hot Spot to Launch Weekend Brunch 

Sfuzzi, the iconic neighborhood Italian hot spot is launching weekend brunch on Saturday, in addition to their dinner and late-night service. Brunch will be available every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Guests can expect Italian-inspired brunch dishes as well as brunch beverages including unique mimosa options.

Brunch could very well be the best part of a weekend. It is lingering, it is friend-filled, you may day drink without despair and the food. The food is definitely a central focus since it is unusual fare from what we dine on throughout the week.  I am not trying to convince you that brunch is amazing, you already know this.

Deep Ellum Brick and Bones Serving Weekend Brunch

A long time Crave favorite for fried chicken is the Deep Ellum staple, Brick and Bones. They announced today that they will now be serving brunch, which is exciting news.

In addition to their late-night offerings, the eatery has introduced a new brunch menu available on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 am-3 pm. Brick & Bone’s delicious fried chicken will be available for brunch, and after two long years, the restaurant has brought back a favorite, the “chicken & waffles” to the brunch menu only.

With spring in full swing our friends at Fearing’s Restaurant at The Ritz-Carlton, Dallas is dishing up a new delicious Sunday Brunch menu. We enjoy brunch but haven’t seen the traditional, old school brunch in quite some time. For this style of brunch we like to look to one of the grand hotels in the area, and the Ritz has something that hits the spot.
