The success of the Gas Monkey Bar and Grill on Technology Drive near Northwest Highway was unheralded by many in the industry, but for the millions of adoring fans worldwide, it was a clear winner even before the doors opened. Since then the restaurant with a mega bar, several stages and a gift shop has been working at capacity many nights during the week. There is no doubt that the barbecue being served is pretty damned delicious, and the music being brought in always seems to please.
Building on this success, front man for the restaurant and star of Fast and Loud on the Discovery Channel, Richard Rawlins has announced the location for the second location in the DFW Airport. Look for Gas Monkey Bar and Grill to open in terminal D sometime this month.
We spoke to Rawlins just after the opening of the first location o Gas Monkey and he said he would be seeking out, future incarnations of the Gas Monkey Bar and Grill i secondary markets that are in need of such a venue. He said he had his eye on Fort Worth, his home town. He also mentioned partnering with a hotel in Vegas.
The new location will be a downsized version of the original, and will mirror the same look and feel of the location on Technology Blvd in Dallas.
