Are you interested in using yoga to develop a deeper connection with youth in our community? Would you like to play a role in offering yoga to kids facing challenges like homelessness, truancy, and sex trafficking?
Studio to Streets, a Dallas based community outreach program, that uses Yoga to help promote health, happiness, and self-empowerment to undeserved Dallas communities is looking for volunteers! Their mission is to help Yoga teachers, assistants, and students join together to facilitate fun, empowering classes, using yoga as a medium to connect and build relationships with people who can’t make it into a studio.
They are currently teamed with 3 facilities in Dallas-Ft. Worth that help them offer classes to homeless, incarcerated, or at-risk youth populations. Studios to Streets is seeking volunteers of all experience levels to join them Tuesday August 9th from 5:30-10:30 for Volunteer Orientation at the Le Tot Juvenile Center. After that, they will be holding weekly classes on Sunday at 4pm for the girl victims of sex-trafficking crimes currently being housed at Le Tot.
So come, enjoy free yoga, help at-risk youth gain self-empowerment and control, and change the world for the better: one down-dog at a time.
