As many are aware, we have personally enjoyed the pop-up speakeasy 828 that so many are wagging on about today, and for a few good reasons. First there is this dynamic charitable aspect that allows us to cocktail in comfort knowing each buck brings happiness to others. To date, the pop-up has raised thousands for Promise House. Then there is the long wagon train of great bar peeps pouring insanely great drinks, each one attempting to top the other in a friendly fanfare of boozy bliss.
This week 828 is getting a facelift from Again and Again while owner Leslie Pritchard is busy loading a slew of cool furnishings into the lounge. Guaranteed that will be amazing. If you spot something you like, it is all for sale with a percentage going to the charity.
We heard that the lovely Trina Nishimura will be behind the bar this Friday along with her cohort in mixology, Andrew Lostetter from Marquee.
Saturday you can enjoy even more cocktailing action at 828 when they open the doors for the last time and celebrate in high fashion (and in costume) with complimentary cocktail tastings all night with a $50 donation at the door. This could possibly be the best Halloween party to hit Dallas.
Another great reason to check out 828 this week would be to witness the mural performance artist in action, Kevin Obregon of The Cube Creative . We captured each of the nightly murals that are painted over each day.
We are looking forward to attending the final week of speakeasy in Oak Cliff.
