Here is what we just received on the new Tiffany Derry restaurant on McKinney Avenue in Uptown:
After a star-studded grand opening party and two months of impeccable dinner service, Tiffany Derry’s latest venture in Uptown, Private|Social, will open for lunch on November 15th. Much like the dinner menu, lunch offerings will reflect chef Derry’s diverse culinary background and feature fresh, seasonal ingredients.
Start with Thai mussels drenched in coconut curry broth, lemongrass, ginger and cilantro or pastrami cured hiramasa with tomato jam, coriander vinaigrette and pickled chile. An artisanal flatbread section features two varieties: one covered with Jimmy’s Italian sausage, pepperoni sauce and mozzarella, and another topped with lamb, tatziki sauce, roasted tomato, arugula and pickled onion.
For something on the lighter side, pair the daily soup feature with a salad tossed with Tom Spicer’s locally grown greens and specialty ingredients. Highlights from the sandwich section include a BLT with house-cured bacon and fried egg on brioche and a hearty goat cheese-stuffed lamb burger.
Entrees include marinated fish tacos with lime pickled vegetables and Mexican rice, a Ramen noodle bowl topped with a poached egg, nori and pork belly, jerk chicken with squash puree and Brussels sprouts, and white fish served with Thai coconut sauce, mushrooms and jasmine rice.
For a little taste of everything, opt for the $15 three-course special. Social Lunch includes a choice of soup or salad, the fish of the day with sautéed vegetables and salsa verde, and house-made sorbets.
“We’ve spent the last two months perfecting our menu and are thrilled to expand our hours to include lunch,” chef Derry says. “We aim to bring an affordable, chef-driven lunch spot to Uptown.”
