First Look: Townhouse Kitchen + Bar

by Steven Doyle

There are more than a few decent dining choices at the Dallas Galleria, including Second Floor and Oceanaire. Less than a month ago we welcomed the new Townhouse Kitchen + Bar to the landscape. The restaurant is a bit stark in its furnishings, but has a terrific patio and large bar that greets each guest as they enter.

The menu is pretty much across the board featuring most anything that might please, including steaks, seafood and tacos. Tacos? Well, ramped up tacos unlike you might have had at your local taqueria. Think Kimchi Duck or Shrimp Kung Pao.

Bacon Donuts

There is also a healthy theme of bacon flowing through out the menu with its bacon wrapped shrimp skewers served with a side of buffalo sauce or their bacon donuts served with a side of bacon ice cream and sauced with bacon jam just for good measure. Our most favorite item on the menu is the side of jalapeno bacon hash browns.

We love the bacon theme.

The atmosphere is quiet and subtle for a perfect repast after all the shopping that goes on at the Galleria. Look for more restaurants to pop up across the city as the Chicago based owners, Restaurant-America sets its sights on both Dallas and Fort Worth. In addition to Townhouse, they also own Primebar and will soon be opening Park Tavern and a few other concepts as they scout out prime real estate in our city.
