Off-Site Kitchen and Central Market News

It has been a busy day, and I had a few deadlines to hit so I missed Media Day at the new Central Market located at one of my very favorite foodie junctures in Dallas — Preston and Royal Lane. The new market opens its doors to everyone in the morning (Wednesday, February 15, 2012) and for those nearby you will be in for all the grand opening treats that is expected with Central Market.             

Just don’t except a large cavernous expanse as you would with the location on Greenville Avenue. Certainly happy to have the new store in my neighborhood. I had a friend pop in this afternoon and we will hear from he later with a few photos.

Another opening you might have heard about is the long awaited Off-Site Kitchen by the same chef who brought you the lovely Neighborhood Services chain, Nick Badovinus. I saw that Observer food-dude Scott Reitz made the trek and battled the crowds. Read his initial reactions here.

My spidey senses told me it would open this week, I should have listened and called Nick. Every time I saw the chef he would tell me it would open in two weeks. That was months ago. Good things happen to those that wait.

Off-Site will only be open for breakfast and lunch, so I will head that way later in the week and sample some of the sandwiches for you. That’s what I do.
