Smashburger Now Pairing With Deep Ellum Brews

Smashburger, the Denver CO based fast causal concept, opens its eighth  DFW location in Coppell, Texas today. To launch this opening Tait Lifto of Deep Ellum Brewery Co. and Tom Ryan, founder of Smashburger, recently sat down together (and even cooked together) collaborating their Burger Beer Pairing. As Lifto stated last night, “this isn’t just a beer with your burger, it’s a carefully researched paring list that will enhance the dining experience.”

The crafted beer scene is growing in Dallas so take advantage of these interactions. The food and beer balance well with each other, each giving a desire to taste each other doubling the pleasure and doubling the fun.

According to Ryan, “we’re excited to offer our guests not only these combinations, but also the opportunity to try a uniquely local brew.”

Burger and Beer Pairings are something to be hoppy about. It’s great to see Smashburger is not only offering a team of handcrafted local beer, but a carefully constructed and well researched pairing menu to go along with it. There’s no thinking involved, they’ve done all the work for you. What makes this eatery unique is the fact everything is made to order. Their special technique quickly cooks the perfectly seasoned handcrafted burger ball that’s smashed to create a seared coating, which they refer to as “meat candy”.

There are eight pairings to choose from, but the one that stood out the most was without a doubt the  Mushroom Swiss Burger which is perfectly matched with a Double Brown Stout. The fruitier notes play very nice with the Swiss cheese. Particularly dark beers also pair well with not only the seared mushrooms (they use real butter) but also freshly Black Angus beef. Smashburger uses lineage tracing of beef cattle, and yes your burger has a birth certificate. Dallas is the Burger Capital and we have so many choices and with the popularity of craft beer, and food pairing itself is an art form.
