Flay In Dallas Stops By Stampede 66 For A Pyles Reunion

pylesby Steven Doyle

Bobby Flay was in town this weekend to sign his 12th cookbook, Barbecue Addiction. While in town Flay paid a visit to his old pal Stephan Pyles at his new restaurant Stampede 66. You may recall that Flay worked for Pyles at Routh Street Café and Baby Routh under then exec chef Kevin Rathbun (brother of Kent). The staging was just before Flay opened his own restaurant, Mesa Grill in New York.

Flay has more Texas roots with his wife hailing from the west Texas town of San Angelo. Both Pyles and Flay must drink from the same waters as neither seems to age a minute.

This is your Dallas restaurant history lesson for the day.

  1. Can I simply just say what a comfort to discover someone who truly knows what they’re
discussing on the internet. You certainly realize how to bring
a problem to light and make it important. More and more people must check this out and
understand this side of the story. It’s surprising
you are not more popular since you definitely
    have the gift.
