Dee Lincoln announces Dee Lincoln Steak & Burger Bar will open for dinner on Thursday, September 12th in Uptown, at 2626 Howell Street. Lunch will begin shortly thereafter on Monday, September 16th. Lincoln promises an approachable menu with updated steakhouse fare and inventive burger recipes in a comfortable and relaxed setting.
Executive Chef Juliard Ishizuka’s menu includes core starters with a creative approach, 8-10 unique burgers, three cuts of steaks, daily blackboard features of a butchers cut and fresh catch of the day, 100 wines under $100 (which will include a small selection of the best available in Texas), local beer and a craft cocktail program showcasing Texas spirits.
Lincoln explains, “I’m known for a steak and most everyone loves a good burger. Solid, well-executed ‘basics’ were a big part of my early success; Chef Juliard is taking those basics and creating recipes that are familiar but intriguing and creative as well. I feel my loyal clientele will come for a steak but it’s important we understand the need to also be approachable and offer a menu for the younger Uptown Dallas diner to enjoy as well.”
Executive Chef Juliard Ishizuka began his career working alongside his father as a cook at Royal Tokyo. Before graduating Aims Culinary Academy, he did externships at both Abacus and The Mansion on Turtle Creek. After graduation, he worked with Chris Ward at Citizen Restaurant, before moving to work as Chef Dean Fearing’s sous chef at The Mansion on Turtle Creek, in 2002. In 2005, Ishizuka joined Aperture Concepts and together with Blaine Staniford opened Fuse Restaurant.
While at Fuse Ishizuka won the Dallas Morning News rising star chef competition. He then worked as a chef for both Cast Iron and Whiskey & Rye restaurants at the Omni Hotel in Fort Worth. In 2011, he joined Dee Lincoln as her executive chef for Dee Lincoln’s Dining Room & Bubble Bar. Ishizuka will now focus full-time as executive chef of Dee Lincoln Steak & Burger Bar.
Lincoln brings Anthony Porcaro as General Manager to assist in opening the new restaurant. Porcaro, who moved to Dallas in 1999, worked alongside Phil Romano at Nick & Sam’s Steakhouse for nine years. He was the creator and owner of Bella Restaurant (2008-2011), which garnered the much sought-after 4 star review by Dallas Morning News and D Magazine’s Top 10 Best New Restaurants of 2008. Porcaro joined Dee Lincoln in 2011.
