FW Fireside Pies To Be Renamed

Fireside Pies has always made a pretty mean pizza. Fireside opened its first pizza restaurant in 2004 and is locally owned by Consilient Restaurant Group, the same group that has assembled a bevy of beautiful restaurants across Dallas and Fort Worth. Think Victor Tango, Hibiscus, the Porch, and more recently, CBD Provisions and A F & B. All quality restaurants run properly.

We stopped in Fireside’s Fort Worth store located on Crockett last evening and was quite surprised how very differently they run that restaurant from the others.

Mind you, it was still the same style of pies but they seemed kicked up a bit with some fantastic toppings such a the lobster pizza we enjoyed last evening. But there were menu items not found on the Henderson Avenue menu such as the ever-so lightly fried Ipswich clams, roasted baby beets and possibly the very best arancini ever. The arancini was stuffed with mushrooms and smoked mozzarella and served with a tangy pomodoro sauce. the largish balls were absolute genius.

Today we hear that the store is a bit different than the rest and will actually assume a new name to mark the difference.  Look for the change to The Thirteen Pies very soon. We know that the store in Fort Worth was set up for replication, so this makes sense. And make the drive to sample the arancini. So, so good.
