The Dallas Chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier will present its annual Raiser Grazer, this year themed “A Fresh Approach”, on Sunday, September 28, 2014 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at The Shed in the Dallas Farmers Market, located at 1010 South Pearl Expressway at Pearl Street in downtown Dallas. “A Fresh Approach to the Raiser Grazer” features chefs from the organization’s chapter partnering with local farmers whose produce is available in the Dallas Market to create the menus for the event.
This will be one of the first events at The Shed, formerly known as Shed 1, in the historic market, which is undergoing major renovations featuring new amenities for farmers and artisanal producers and will include restaurants, residential and retail space. Presenting sponsors of “A Fresh Approach” are Lone Star AG Credit and Whole Foods Market. The Grande Dame of the organization’s Dallas Chapter is Caroline Rose Hunt.
According to noted chef and chapter member Dame Joanne Bondy, “There are approximately twenty LDEI Dallas Dames participating who are committed to a priority of using local, fresh, and sustainable ingredients in their cuisine.” Guests will savor generous samplings such as Chef Tiffany Derry’s salmon tartare with avocado and olive tapenade; hearty slices of beef from the famed Perini Ranch; and pistachio ice cream courtesy of Chef Dunia Borga of La Duni Latin Kitchen. “Combined with the fine wines and spirits that will be offered, entertainment, the silent auction featuring ‘foodie’ items for bid and a terrific raffle – it promises to be a great evening,” Dame Bondy added.
Tickets to “A Fresh Approach to the Raiser Grazer” are $65 per person and available for purchase in advance of the event only. After September 24, 2014, tickets are $75 per person. Tickets may be purchased online.
