Celebrate Your Un-Birthday With an Un-Cupcake

by Steven Doyle

If you are having a very merry Un-Birthday, you may wish to celebrate with our newest bestest buddy in the pastry world, the Un-Cupcake. You know you do not normally find us following the crazy cupcake-froyo-macaron-Ben & Jerry trends (although we do like brownies quite considerably), but holy mother of cakes this thing is big.

We are not sure why we were not alerted to this treat from Rush Patisserie before, but we feel left out — at least until yesterday when we tried our first, the Caramel Coconut & Cream Cheese Un-Cupcake. Creamy and dreamy are simple words to describe the Un-Cupcake.

The Un-Cupcake is made in a tiny jam jar and comes replete with a tiny spoon sweetly tied to the jar with a ribbon. Sounds too precious to eat, and the jar sat on our desk until late last night.

The cakes come in assorted flavors including Wedding Cake, Chocolate Ganache, Lemon Crunch, Caramel Coconut & Cream Cheese, S’mores, Red Velvet, Strawberries & Cream, and Caramel Macchiato.

Remember, you have 364 un-birthday reasons to have a few jars of the Un-Cupcake. And we really do like macarons.

  1. I love Rush Patisserie. Samantha is pretty awesome, too. And yes, the uncupcakes are amazing, but I am partial to the macarons because they are so rare (here is my article about it: http://founditonapostednote.wordpress.com/2011/03/08/pieces-of-flare/). If you would have asked, I would have divulged:) PS are macarons still on-demand only, or are they now consistently in her shop?
