Good Union Urban Barbeque will open its first location at CityLine, the 186-acre mixed-use project in Richardson, Texas. The restaurant will serve Texas barbeque favorites like USDA Prime brisket, pork, sausage, ham, turkey and ribs. Classic side items include smoked beans, cole slaw and potato salad. All food will be made fresh daily and served on a first-come, first-serve basis to ensure the highest quality. This includes meat smoked on an indoor fire pit equipped with special ventilation to accommodate the building, allowing for a smoky flavor without overwhelming guests.
“As we complete our mix of restaurants at CityLine, we have been very selective about the uses we pursue. We think the price points, service model and barbeque concept will fit nicely,” said Colin Fitzgibbons of KDC, the developers of CityLine. “But what is really impressive about the Good Union team is their extensive operational experience and commitment to authentic Texas barbeque.”
The service style will be a hybrid model, where guests can control their experience by placing orders at a counter at their convenience. Food and drinks will be hand-delivered to tables, with servers available to accommodate any other needs. There will be a patio facing the central plaza where guests can enjoy craft beers and premium cocktails from the full-service bar while listening to live music in the park.
“We wanted to provide that authentic quality of food you would find if you were driving through the Texas Hill Country,” said Ted Beaman, president of Good Union Urban Barbeque. “We are excited to bring the same experience to a place you wouldn’t expect – right in the middle of an urban area like CityLine.”
The 3,903-square-foot restaurant is scheduled to open in the fall of 2015. It will be located in the base of One CityLine at 1150 State Street.
