We are gearing up for National Hot Dog Day, and about to release our annual list of our top dogs in the Dallas area. In anticipation of this auspicious day we found an unusual pizza that might grab your attention. Greenville Avenue Pizza Company is celebrating the dog holiday with a throwback to school lunches and a nod to the Plate Lunch Special, that daily set-menu cafeteria tray of well-meaning foods that comprised a balanced meal of meat, starch and veggies.
All day on July 23rd Greenville Avenue Pizza Company will serve a smorgasbord of a pizza that’s topped with sloppy Joes, hot dogs, corn, mashed potatoes and broccoli. The pizza will be served three ways: as a traditional, rectangular cafeteria slice ($5), as a 12-inch pie ($14) or a 16-inch pie ($18).
This special concoction is available for dine-in, delivery and carry-out, so you may indulge in some nostalgia as we celebrate the blessed union of humble hot dogs, school lunches and pizza.
