Malai Kitchen Opens in Fort Worth


Six and a half years after opening their Southeast Asian restaurant in
the heart of Uptown Dallas, Braden and Yasmin Wages will open the doors to their third location in Fort Worth’s The Shops at Clearfork on Monday, October 9, 2017.

“We’re excited to bring our modern take on Thai and Vietnamese cuisine and refined service to Fort Worth’s burgeoning food scene,” says Braden. “We are proud and feel very fortunate to be included in the lineup of luxury destinations in The Shops at Clearfork.”



This third location will stay true to Malai Kitchen’s core principles of sourcing the highest quality ingredients available and preparing as much as possible from scratch. As with their first two restaurants, their popular curry paste, sriracha sauce, and coconut milk will continue to be prepared inhouse daily. They will also be serving fresh-pressed sugar cane juice with ginger and lime, an addition that was implemented after one of their annual trips to Southeast Asia. The bar will continue to feature

Malai Kitchen’s signature cocktails, an approachable wine list, and six house-brewed beers on tap. Malai Kitchen’s award-winning Asian-style beers are a unique addition to Fort Worth’s exploding brew scene. Brewmaster Matt Reynolds is constantly brewing up fresh ideas for the restaurant’s seasonal rotator.

Dinner, lunch, brunch, and beverage menus will remain consistent with the original restaurants, except for a few additions including Grilled Faroe Island Salmon, Panang Curry Duck Breast, and Pan-Roasted Halibut. Guests can still expect to find popular dishes such as the Thai Coconut Soup, Peanut-Encrusted Ruby Trout, Iron Pot Green Curry Chicken, Vietnamese Barbeque Pork Ribs, Thai Eggs Benedict, and Mango Sticky Rice Smash.

The 3,000 square-foot, 76-seat space designed by Dallas-based firm JonesBaker, is sleek and inviting with dramatic lighting, stacked wood walls, oversized booths, and a stunning bar area. The open kitchen in the center of the restaurant serves as the anchor to the dining room adding energy to the space. A windowed fermentation room lined with white subway tiles also doubles as a wine cellar and serves as a backdrop to the bar, creating an alluring first impression from the entrance.


And of course, there is a custom-built coconut grater anchored at the edge of the dining room, which allows guests to watch the processes and the freshness that makes Malai stand out. A large open-air patio will be added in the weeks to come.

Malai Kitchen Fort Worth will be open seven days a week serving dinner, lunch, brunch, and happy hour.
