The Stater Dallas will celebrate Halloween not once, but twice. The festivities start in the daytime for children and families, then switch to an adults-only sensibility when the sun goes down.
Guests of all ages can take part in an expanded expression of the usual door-to-door trick-or-treating from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at The Statler’s Scare Fare. You’ll check in and receive a trick-or-treat kit with a map of all the candy stations located throughout the hotel, which will include each of The Statler’s four restaurants and additional action stations in the hotel lobby. Each stop on your map will be offering a unique treat germane to the venue you’re visiting. The Garden Court “Graveyard” will feature Halloween games, a magician, a fortune teller, and you might even spot a zombie or two.
Scout will be hosting a full-service, themed lunch with a la carte items in the $5-$12 range. Menu items will be served in disposable containers so you can eat either at the socially-distanced tables inside Scout or outdoors in the Garden Court.
Scare Fare is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-12. Tickets will include six activation stations throughout the hotel lobby with candy and sweets for the children and food and beverage tastings for the adults, including the iconic Primo’s Signature Margarita!

Once the sun goes down, the hotel will transform into an adults-only playground for Afterlife. The main event will be an exclusive party in the Statler Ballroom, which will be transformed into a lively but socially responsible space. One of the world’s top open-format DJs, DJ Ruckus, will be headlining the night and will be accompanied by additional fan favorites to provide a full evening of entertainment. To follow state-mandated capacity limits, the event will be by reservation only. Skyboxes will be available starting at $750. Additional ticketing information is available at refinedhospitalityconcepts.com/afterlife.
The party will continue with a fun and frightful evening under the starts at the breathtaking rooftop lounge Waterproof, where entertainment will be provided into the night. Table reservations are highly recommended as capacity will be limited. Email hello@waterproofdallas.com for pricing.
The long-awaited Bourbon & Banter reopening will also take place on Halloween, with a Bourbon Street-themed party with skeletons, a corpse revival and a voodoo vibe. The party is by reservation only; reservations can be made at resy.com/cities/dfw/boubon-and-banter.
After all that Halloween fun, you’ll need something to help revive you on Nov. 1. The Day of the Dead Hangover Brunch at Primo’s will do just that, with a la carte menu items and cocktails served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Primo’s will feature $1 mimosas with purchase of a brunch entrée!
