Duro Hospitality and Socorro Tequila proudly announce the launch of Socorro Tequila Joven Duro Edition, a one-of-a-kind collaboration that brings an exclusive new tequila expression to all Duro Hospitality concepts. Now available in signature cocktails and on the backbar at all of Duro’s concepts, this unique joven blend is the result of months of experimentation, shared values, and a long-standing relationship between the founders of both companies.
The Socorro Tequila Joven Duro Edition delivers a layered and complex tasting experience that’s both innovative and deeply rooted in tradition. The Añejo in the blend was aged in French oak barrels previously used for Casa Madero’s Gran Reserva Syrah, bringing a subtle depth that perfectly complements the vibrant agave character of the Blanco. The result is a tequila that maintains the additive-free purity Socorro is known for while introducing elegant complexity that makes it an ideal pairing for Duro’s world-class food and drink menus.
“This wasn’t about slapping our name on a bottle,” said Chas Martin, Co-Founder of Duro Hospitality. “It was about honoring flavor, tradition, and the people who make extraordinary things happen behind the scenes. Socorro Tequila Joven Duro Edition reflects the balance we strive for in everything we do—bold yet elegant, refined yet soulful.” Benji Homsey, Co-Founder of Duro Hospitality continues, “But most importantly, it’s a celebration of our deep friendship with Josh and Pablo and the love and pride we feel watching them bring their vision to life with such integrity and passion.”
The collaboration began in 2022 as a creative experiment when Socorro Tequila founders Josh Irving and Pablo Antinori approached Casa Madero about aging tequila in their wine barrels. What followed was sixteen months of aging, ten trips to Jalisco, and seven months of meticulous development at Duro’s Mister Charles. Antinori took the lead in blending all the Joven samples and crafting the overall flavor profile, bringing a clear creative direction to the project. Meanwhile, Duro Hospitality’s Beverage Director James Pine guided the selection process to narrow down the expressions, ultimately choosing the one that best aligned with Duro’s distinctive hospitality style. Pine described the final product as tasting “like chocolates in the park with a sunny-ness to it,” with aromas of fresh fruit, prickly pear, white chocolate, and white pepper, and tasting notes that range from vegetal green to dark chocolate, sunflower seeds, and red plum.
Though Pine led the development of the flavor profile, Duro founders Chas Martin and Benji Homsey were intimately involved throughout the process with both providing guidance rooted in deep appreciation for spirits. Homsey added his aesthetic touch as well with involvement in the label design process. Their personal connection to Socorro Tequila runs deep—Duro was one of the first groups to carry Socorro Tequila after its 2020 launch, and Homsey’s own entrepreneurial journey helped inspire the founding of the brand years prior.
“Amazing food, incredible people, and boundary-pushing concepts—Duro Hospitality deserved a tequila that matched that energy. That’s exactly what Socorro Tequila Joven Duro Edition is,” said Josh Irving, Co-Founder and CEO of Agave Spirits.
Pablo Antinori, Co-Founder and Director of Agave Spirits, added, “This blend is a delicate balance—retaining our Blanco’s vibrant agave character while introducing gentle complexity from the French oak. It mirrors Duro’s own attention to craft and layered hospitality.”
Guests can now enjoy Socorro Tequila Joven Duro Edition exclusively at Duro Hospitality concepts. It is not available for retail purchase, but is featured in house cocktails including the “El Martini” at Mister Charles with Makrut Lime and Cointreau; the “Sandro Pertini” at The Charles with mezcal, Campari, and lime; the “Tio Rosso” at El Carlos Elegante with grapefruit soda and rosemary; and the “O Sole Mio” at Sister. Whether served neat or mixed, this tequila promises a distinctive, elegant expression that reflects the shared pursuit of excellence by both Socorro Tequila and Duro Hospitality.
